Increase of Number on Mass Mental Illness
Teen’s are developing the characteristics of depression, and the government are doing nothing about it. Today in the United States of America, children are becoming depressed because of lack of support and insecurities. Sources such as the internet, and licensed therapist blame it on hormones or adolescents period of growth. But it is actually way more severe than they think. Children of the millennial are experiencing more behavioral episodes once they start reaching the stage of becoming either a teen or an adult.
In 2011, scientific studies showed that kids are more likely to experience depressive incidents and suffer from mental illnesses than adults. Especially kids in middle school or high school. 12.0% of people who reported these incidents were 16 year olds. The suicide rate for girls, 15-19 years old, doubled from 2007 to 2015. Boys increased by 30% over the same time period when it reached the highest point in 40 years.
Though there are not statistics on the amount of children with depression caused by puberty, it is
scientifically proven that teens moods start to decrease when they experience the change into adulthood. Most teens also develop stress as they progress in school and endure emotional feelings. That may cause those of young age to reside to suicide. They may feel like there really is not a solution to the pain. They don’t confide in their parents or any other adult, simple because they don’t understand. It is hard for many kids to share the painful events in their lives because adults may tend to make it into a light situation when the child may feel as if it is a major problem. Which it is majority of the time. Finding comfort in friends may result in judgment which causes the child to close in their feelings to themselves. And refuse to tell anybody.
Certain situations or past tragedies share a big part in many of people’s personalities and lives. Which is why we need more support from America. Childhood scars that were never relieved can result in dangerous behavior. About 40% of Americans that are incarcerated have suffer from a mental illness. Lives are being lost, and the grief is hard to bear. We need more support groups, and more organizations to help teens understand that they are not alone. People put many of support groups toward same sex marriage, racial equality, and economic stability but they do not put together groups that keeps the youth from ending their own lives. There is focus on many things except for protecting the children of America. Which is another thing added to the list of things we need to change.

Why We Shouldn’t Colonize Mars
After the release of popular sci-fi film The Martian, the development of SpaceX with CEO Elon Musk, and new advances in aerospace science and technology, people are excited now more than ever about the prospect of venturing out past cislunar space and colonizing our red neighbor, Mars. Much of the population believe that NASA could be sending manned missions to Mars as early as 2024.
The decision to send humans to Mars is, simply put, a bad one. The full round trip alone would take up to three years to complete, meaning we would have to somehow pack three years worth of food on a shuttle, as well as the tons of supplies needed for possible missions.
There’s a reason no life exists on Mars; not only does it have one of the weakest magnetospheres in the solar system, which plays a key role in protecting the planet against violent solar attacks from the sun, but it also has an air pressure so low, if an astronaut were to take off their helmet, the water would boil from their eyes and they would die within a minute. In addition, Mars also has an average surface temperature of 218°K, or -67° F. Mild hypothermia onsets in the human body after it drops past just 95°F. So, there’s being baked by UV radiation, suffocating under the severely low atmospheric pressure, and turning into a human popsicle. All of these things are potentially no danger if any astronaut on Mars were to stay inside their space suit, except that NASA and other noteworthy space programs haven’t even designed a space suit that could survive Mars.

Student traffic in the hallways and how it can be helped
Traffic a word we all dislike and something we all have to deal with where it's on the road, at our local Walmart, or even at our hallways. Now imagine this you're driving to a party, movie theaters or your job and suddenly when you turn the corner there's a bunch of cars just parked in the middle of the road or maybe there's a car speeding extremely fast now imagine this the traffic you just imagine is the traffic at school. All of those who abide by the laws of the road must abide by the rules of the hallways as well.
“Attend all your classes, regularly and on time”students are expected to go to class and learn to get their education, students are given a 6 minutes interval between classes and whenever students use that interval or not is up to them.Although that is so an increase of students are beginning to block the flow of traffic doing so can cause students to run in the hallways causing a danger to students as they may run into someone.
Another problem is the flow of traffic “horrible people keep stopping in the middle of the hallways”said student Jose Carrillo. Most people wouldn’t stop in the middle of the road but an increase number of students do so if students are able to move to a section where it would not disturb the flow of traffic some students wouldn't have to change directions or move around them as that disturbs one of the rules most students know “keep to the right side of the hallway”.
Lastly there's a problem many students do but don't know that it's a rule their braking the use of profanity.”Students shall not use profanity or vulgar language”Now on the other hand others may argue that its not breaking the rules to curse, stop in the middle of the hallway or even walk slowly but the student code of conduct states that students should not do these things as it states in the student conduct “to treat others with courtesy and respect”.
In conclusion if students are able to follow the rules they will be able to get to their destination if you wouldn't do it on the road why do it in the hallways.

Racism is not as common as it once was in public schools. Compared to the 1960’s, the rate of discrimination because of skin color has decreased. However, that doesn’t mean that it has disappeared completely. Racism is not supported and it must come to a stop.
Racism can come in many different forms, from different types of sources. In person, online, from adults, to peers; discrimination is a stranger to no one. According to data from the US Department of Education, the rate of expulsion for black kids was three times that of white kids in 2014. The word “bullying” may not be the exact word that comes to mind when you hear this data, but racism and discrimination definitely fall under the category of bullying. Bullying is common in public schools, but bullying because of race is not typically the most common reason why. One can feel the need to bully someone because of jealousy, insecurities, and taught behavior.
There are situations where not only students, but teachers as well are getting discriminated against because of their skin color. In 2015, a poll was conducted to see how teachers of different color felt. 62% reported back that they feel treated differently compared to the common white teacher.
Some people of color in public schools classify as BAME, (black, asian, minority ethnic). Hispanics, Latinos, and Mexicans are all considered minorities, as in the “ME” in BAME, and are referred to as “beaners”. Today’s generation has its own nicknames or references for many races. White people are considered ”crackers”, black people are “negros” or sometimes the well-known n-word. When one is getting teased, it is expected that race is brought into the situation because we casually use the words. The words have meaning and are harmful to some.
In order to prevent racism in the future, it is necessary that we take action immediately. The most logical solution to the racism issue is to encourage diversity. It is okay to be different. Don’t let your kids be ashamed of the color of their skin. We can avoid all future bullying and racism by initially trying to ignore racist comments. We need to listen to each other, what good is ignoring it if it continuously happens. Some people feel better when they express how they feel. Support groups would be a help to the situation. It gives a safe place to talk when one most needs it.

American Youth Encouraged to Stay Silent Concerning Current Events
There is a common misconception in today’s society that exists in the belief that the youth are not competent enough, nor well-versed enough, to hold legitimate opinions on political issues. This belief is subjective and highly contradictory to what children are preached from the moment they begin to understand the influence of opinion and the power of speech. We have a voice. We have power. We are the future. In one breath, we are encouraged to speak out for what we believe in, and against what we don't- yet in the same breath, we are told to leave the big talk to our “superiors”.
Teens should be given more of a voice in politics- a voice that is acknowledged and respected.
Following the Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting in Parkland, Florida, the surviving students, as well as students throughout the rest of the United States, have taken a more active role in shaping their futures by advocating against gun violence. These teens are at the forefront of the debate, using statistical evidence and first-hand accounts of the impact of the NRA in order to provide educated opinions on a political topic that has been a source of tension since the 1960s. However, their activism brings on criticism, as adults ranging from parents to politicians, belittle and discredit the words of the students. Dominantly in the media, these students have been described as being “crisis actors”, “political pawns for the left wing”, “too unstable to give reliable opinions”, and “too young to speak out on mature topics”.
Whether people want to accept it or not, today’s teens are the future of America, and deserve to be heard. Because of this, our elders should try to be more receptive to our views and opinions, rather than disregarding them. We should acknowledge one another’s views respectfully, and try to educate one another rather than discredit one another.
It can be agreed that there are many teens that do not have the level of maturity and knowledge on political matters that is necessary for them to provide relevant opinions. However, the same could be said for adults. At home, in the workplace, on social media, etc., students do and will face both discussions and debates on current events, as well as existing and even non existing policies in our government. Especially since seniors will soon become registered voters, they need to be trusted to be capable to hold mature conversations on differing political opinions and controversial topics.
Additionally, it is important to understand that many of past historical figureheads were young when they began to take charge in the political world. Joan of Arc defeated the English in the Hundred Years War and became a national hero at age 17. Marquis de Lafayette turned the tide of the Revolutionary War at age 19. Mozart was only 8 years old when he wrote his first symphony.
As a country, there should be more faith in today’s youth, their intelligence, and their judgement. We may be kids now, but we won’t be forever. The best way to prepare us for decision-making in the future is to enable us to practice it now.

How increase in fine arts programs can help prevent mass shootings
In the wake off all the mass shooting that have happened in the last five years, it would seem like the only viable answers left would be to start banning people from entering the country. And, while that may seem like a viable option to many people, there is an even better option. Putting people through fine arts programs.
Although it may seem odd that a major solution to a dangerous problem can be something as simple as art, singing, and writing, after further explanation it makes sense. The official term for this is Expressive Art Therapy. According to Psychology Today, its a program that combines psychology with the creative process to promote emotional growth and healing.
When we take this knowledge and apply it to ourselves, it makes sense. For many of us, we find comfort in things such as art, writing or sports. We get time to destress from all of our other issues in life such as school and work.
If the same thing can be used with more patients with mental illnesses, we can stop the root of causes people to shoot schools. We can protect the lives of everyone, and fix a problem before it even arises. It also lowers dependency on pills, and promotes learning new skills.
The only issue that arises from this is a lack of funding, which is something that President Trump has been planning to cut in his budget plan. A lack in funding for a program like this could potentially make it more difficult for patients to receive this kind of help. Furthermore it would make it more difficult for people to afford that kind of care in general, because private companies could put a huge price tag on that kind of service.
But there is another solution. The government could enforce that every student is required to take some type of fine arts class every year. With this all students would be able to destress from their regular school worries, and relax for an hour. It would also be free for most students who may not be able to afford a fancy help program.
All in all, this is a creative and innovative idea to help combat attacks across the nation. It would promote safety and encourage creativity. In a fast paced world like ours, those are two things that will never go out of style.
