Handling school and sports at the same time
Life as a student and a athlete can be difficult when doing both at the same time.
“It can be difficult to handle sometimes if you don’t plan out things good with time when it comes to your studies and practices” said by 10th grader Ashley Burke
When being a student and also being involved with sports at school they are are putting more work on yourself. Having time management is the main key they would wanna use when being a student athlete because of the fact you have to squeeze in your studies for school but also your practices and games for your sport. Student athletes have more on their plates since they have to juggle more than one thing at once.
Other students have to understand that these are not normal students who go to school and then go straight home to study or do whatever. These are people who wake up early in the morning to go to practices in the morning and after go start their nine hour shift at school then go right back to practice after the last bell. They are putting in more work and effort than what an average student does on a daily.
There are many student athletes who enjoy what they are doing.
“I have fun playing softball in school and probably would like to do it for another year or two.” which was said by Ashley Burke, a 10th grader who is currently playing for the softball team. Even though to other people it may seem like being a student and athlete is too much work or too much to do, others enjoy taking the task of being an athlete at their school and being able to participate in playing sports. But some just have to understand that being a student athlete is not made for everyone.
With being a student athlete they still have to make sure their academics are good. They must make sure their grades are up and they are staying out of trouble in and outside the classroom. Athletes have a bigger responsibility since they are representing their school as a student and also an athlete so, they have to make sure they are not representing in a poorly way.
They are setting a big role for their school.
