What teams are being slept on this season, and why?
A lot of NFL teams are not getting recognition they deserve, so ex-Clemens running back Rodney Howard answered some questions about which NFL teams will surprise people this season, and why they will.
“They haven’t done well in the past because of either injury or bad coaching. Or… Both,” Rodney Howard said when asked why these teams aren’t getting the proper recognition.
He did not blame it on skill set. You might be wondering ‘which teams in particular is he talking about.’
Howard said his five sleeper teams are the, “Chargers, Lions, Ravens, Buccaneers, and Eagles.”
These teams have been ridiculed with injuries and bad coaching. The Chargers and Ravens have led the league in injury for the past three years. But even with that, they have still been tough, competitive opponents, leading the league in the most losses under one possession in the past two years.
The Cardinals were one of the front runners going into the season, but then they lost their star running-back David Johnson to a wrist injury for a few months. Rodney Howard was asked how well the Arizona Cardinals will do without their star player. “Not too good. Their offense struggled with him and he’s their best player. Not only at Half-Back, but also at Wide-Receiver and Returner.”
The next team Howard discussed is very interesting; The Cleveland Browns. With Cleveland still a mystery, people if they will turn it around anytime soon, this is what he said. “Yeah, maybe next year if they can stay healthy.”
The last question Rodney Howard answered is what his super bowl pick is. “Rematch with the Falcons vs. the Patriots, but the Falcons winning this time.” That would be a great matchup, to match what has already been, and what should be, a great NFL season.
